I have a Master's Degree in English Literature and I'm currently working on my Master's in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. In terms of literature, my interests fall in post-colonial studies - particularly the writing of first-generation Caribbean-Canadians, and the exploration of alternate formats, like graphic novels, as a means for communicating the nuances of a diasporic existence. I would love to continue my engagement with literature and the humanities as a subject-specialist academic librarian, but I am also increasingly drawn to the data collection, analysis, and presentation. I've been working at UBC Library in a reference and instruction capacity, and in the Assessment Office. As such, I get the opportunity to feed my dual interests; however, I'm constantly looking for projects and venues that could enable their convergence.
